F&B – Hospitality Industry Skills Arena Accelerating In Step with Rising Industry Standards

The wave of F&B and hospitality skills competitions in Vietnam is rapidly gaining momentum, reflecting the growing need to standardize workforce competencies and elevate service quality in an increasingly competitive market, with each platform contributing to a dynamic and diverse industry landscape. In this context, Food & Hospitality Vietnam 2026, under the endorsement of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade and in collaboration with reputable associations such as Vietnam Hotel Association, World Association of Chefs’ Societies, and Vietnam Executive Housekeepers Association, is not merely a competition or professional activity but a convergence point of values, craftsmanship, brand presence, solutions, and partnership opportunities, all within a comprehensive exhibition and trade ecosystem.

In recent years, Vietnam’s F&B and hospitality competition ecosystem has expanded rapidly, clearly reflecting two major market trends: (1) the growing need to elevate professional skills amid intensifying competition; and (2) mounting pressure to standardize service quality to meet the expectations of more demanding customers, particularly in the restaurant–hotel segment and modern F&B chains. From barista craftsmanship and sensory evaluation to professional culinary arts and hotel operations, competitions have become a new “meeting point” for the industry’s workforce, while also serving as a market-driven benchmark of professional capability.

Among the most prominent professional platforms are beverage and coffee competitions, which continue to scale up in both size and influence. The Vietnam Barista Competition - a nationwide professional arena for baristas is typically held alongside major industry exhibitions, featuring key categories such as Espresso, Milk Beverage, and Signature Beverage. The competition format not only encourages technical mastery and creative thinking, but also emphasizes professional presentation aligned with international standards. In parallel, the Vietnam Aromaster Championship places sensory evaluation at the center of competition, where the ability to identify and analyze flavors is treated as a core skill directly applicable to quality control and product development within the coffee industry.

In the culinary segment, the Vietnam Culinary Challenge continues to maintain strong appeal with high-level technical challenges evaluated by an international judging panel. Notably, the competition’s pursuit of increasingly rigorous professional standards signals an important industry shift: craftsmanship is no longer merely a supporting “soft” element, but is becoming a brand’s competitive asset. As customer experience demands greater consistency and standardization, professional capability forms the foundation for F&B and hospitality business models to operate efficiently, scale across multiple outlets, and enhance brand value. The year 2026 marks a significant milestone as VNCC officially receives professional endorsement from the World Association of Chefs' Societies (WACS), affirming the competition’s international standards and global credibility within the culinary community.

However, the current market landscape shows that competitions are expanding in both scale and thematic diversity. This creates richness for the industry, but at the same time raises the need for a continuous connection across the value chain, from profession and brand to solutions and transactions.

Beyond the value of honoring craftsmanship, the market is gradually setting higher expectations: how can professional skills be transformed into tangible career advancement opportunities, expanded commercial partnerships, and elevated operational standards for businesses? This gap highlights the need for a platform large enough to connect and amplify such value.

In response to this demand, Food & Hospitality Vietnam 2026 is viewed as a rare industry-wide connecting platform. Unlike the model of standalone competitions, Food & Hospitality Vietnam 2026, together with the participation of both domestic and international judging panels, enables contestants to develop expertise aligned with global trends and strengthen their competitiveness in an era of integration. The program situates competitions within a large-scale international exhibition ecosystem where craftsmanship, brands, and business opportunities converge — allowing professional standards to be more clearly defined and directly connected to the market.

Within the context of Food & Hospitality Vietnam 2026, key professional activities such as the Vietnam Barista Competition, Vietnam Aromaster Championship, Vietnam Culinary Challenge, and Vietnam Housekeeping Competition will not only take place concurrently, but will also be staged within the framework of a large-scale international exhibition. The event will be held at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), spanning approximately 13,000 square meters of exhibition space, featuring around 400 exhibitors from 27 countries and territories, along with more than 20 international pavilions. An estimated 17,000 trade visitors are expected to attend, including business owners, senior executives, industry experts, and investors.

This scale ensures that the competitions are not merely platforms to “compete to win,” but become critical touchpoints between professional skills and the market where occupational standards are observed, benchmarked, and elevated in response to real business demands.

A new highlight of the 2026 edition is the Vietnam Housekeeping Competition — a housekeeping operations competition held for the first time at Food & Hospitality Vietnam 2026. The competition is assigned by the Vietnam Tourism Association to the Vietnam Hotel Association, directly implemented by the Vietnam Executive Housekeeper Association (VEHA), in collaboration with SES Vietnam Exhibition Services Company. The Vietnam Housekeeping Competition not only honors professional skills, service standards, and the professionalism of housekeeping teams, but also brings a core yet often underrepresented segment of the hotel industry into the spotlight of standardization and workforce development.

The 2026 competition series is supported by reputable sponsors and industry partners such as Nhất Hương, CMAB, USMEF, USBEEF - USPORK, INDIANA SOY - INDIANA CORN, USAPEEC, ASMI, MAGGI, RAC, POTATOES USA, RICHS, OUCBOLL, V HORECA, SUNSHINE, Hoshizaki Việt Nam, Lý Gia Viên, KATEC, HAYEN, AVC, Nhất Nam Fine Food, Le Fruit, Folliet, Thanh Tailor, Annapolis, DMK, An Liam, Thoi Dai, XLVI, Markibar, and GOE — representing sectors spanning ingredients, kitchen equipment, beverage solutions, hospitality technology, and service operations. Their participation not only reinforces professional rigor and international standards across the competitions, but also completes the ecosystem connecting skills, solutions, and market demand that Food & Hospitality Vietnam aims to cultivate.

Alongside its professional activities, Food & Hospitality Vietnam 2026 further expands its role as a strategic trade connectivity platform through the FHV Premier Connect program, organizing pre-arranged one-on-one meetings between qualified exhibitors and potential buyers to optimize collaboration efficiency within the F&B and hospitality sectors.

Beyond being a series of competitions, the event is progressively positioning itself as a comprehensive “industry standard-elevating” platform, where professional benchmarks are defined, expert communities are strengthened, and market capabilities are transformed into tangible, sustainable, and deeply integrated business opportunities.
